On-Line Databases

The Library offers access to a virtual library of online resources including encyclopedias, journals, periodicals, newspapers, tests, and more to its on-line patrons.

You must have a valid Barton County Library card to use these databases.  You may access these databases remotely by  logging in on the login screen. Use your library card # for the patron ID number and use the last 4 digits of your library card number for the PIN.

EBSCOhost house icon

EBSCOhost Web. Provides full a general magazine index and full text for over 2,000 journals covering social sciences, humanities, health, business, general science, multi-cultural studies, education, and much more.

Business Searching Interface
Provides full text for nearly 8,350 scholarly business journals. Use the Enhanced Business Searching Interface to locate company information, industry overviews and more.

Student Research Center
A database for teens in grades 6 to 12. Look for magazine and newspaper articles, reference books, reports, photos, maps, flags and other information to help you with your school assignment.

Searchasaurus
A children’s interface to EBSCOhost’s Encyclopedia of Animals, General Encyclopedia, and Primary Search. Includes Fun facts and a tutorial.

Kids Search
For grades K to 8. Kids Search includes magazine articles, reference books, an encyclopedia and other information to help you with your homework.

NoveList
A fiction database that provides subject heading access, reviews, annotations, and much more for over 135,000 fiction titles. It also includes other content of interest to fiction readers, such as Author Read-alikes, What We're Reading, Book Discussion Guides, BookTalks, and Annotated Book Lists. For school media specialists and teachers there are Picture Book Extenders and articles on Teaching with Fiction.
